Careers Curriculum Mapping/Content
Careers and Employability Vision:
Empowering learners to unlock their potential by fostering resilience, building community networks, and enhancing transferable skills.
Castledon has two strands to the Careers curriculum.
This is the class-based learning programme which is supported by Talentino -
- Careers at Every Level
- Talentino - More
- Skills Builder Hub
The curriculum is designed to be progressive with elements of repetition to secure knowledge.
Students will learn about the 20 career families in order to develop a broad and balanced knowledge of the labour market, locally, nationally and globally.
A keen focus is placed on soft skill development and characteristics employers look for, to enable our pupils to be ready socially and emotionally for the workplace.
This part of the programme focuses on pupils' experiences and aspirations.
We believe being part of the wider community and developing networks and opportunities to feel a sense of belonging is essential for our pupils.
Work experiences are developed in a way that ensures pupils can transfer skills and build resilience in a safe and supportive way.
We are as keen to support the employer as much as the pupil, so everyone has meaningful experiences.
Whilst gaining work experiences in an area of aspiration can be challenging, we will always endeavour to create opportunities for pupils to have experiences with employers linked to their vocational subjects.
We aim to ensure pupils leave with an ability to articulate to future they want to have, and gain the right support to ensure this happens.
